Employees may view fall protection as a hindrance, however, fall protection saves hundreds of lives year after year. But you have to know when and how to properly use the system so that when an employee loses balance he or she will be safe from personal injury.

When is Fall Protection Required?

  • Working above dangerous equipment
  • On forms or steel reinforcing over 6’
  • On scaffolding over 10’
  • In a boom lift and bucket truck lift
  • Working over 4’ above a lower level in General Industry
  • Working over 6’ above a lower level in Construction
  • Vertical ladders over 24’ without cages
  • On a surface with an unprotected edge 15’ above a lower level in Steel Erection

Your employees will learn: the dangers of working without fall protection, the different types of fall protection systems and methods (Personal fall-arrest systems, safety monitoring and barricades, etc.), the ABCDs of Fall Arrest (Anchorage, Body Wear (Harness), Connectors, and Deceleration Devices) and more.

Use the Planning and Preparation Section to create your own fall protection plan covering: the planning process, roof openings and holes, low-slope and steep roofs, calculating fall distance and more.

The training will reinforce the five steps to using a fall arrest system.

  1. Inspect all equipment
  2. Put on the harness
  3. Install Anchor
  4. Connect the Lifeline
  5. Connect the Lanyard

And finally, in the event of a fall, you and your employees will know how to respond. The training teaches rescuing and rappelling, what to do during the emergency and what to do immediately afterward.

Our Fall Protection training kit is a simple 3-step solution

Stack of Safety Meetings
Classroom training. The first step of our program is an intuitive electronic training session. Through the program, employees navigate an electronic training program at a computer and then take an automatically graded test. If computers are not available materials are printable for a traditional classroom or onsite training seminar.
Field training. The second part of training is in the field. During this portion of the session, your appointed trainer shows the trainee the infield applications of the materials they learned in the classroom session.
Evaluation. The third and final step to the training session is evaluation. Through this step, the trainer evaluates the trainee and either signs off on certification or retouches on topics that need more work. All certification through the program meets or exceeds OSHA requirements.

“ In an industry that lags response to both activity and urgency, Safety Services is the exception. Their timely distribution of training materials were initially tracked with scrutiny for several months, before realizing that the team there had me well taken care of from the very beginning.”
