
As of April 30th, 2008 two new directors have been appointed to key positions with OSHA
Steven Witt was appointed Director of OSHA’s Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs. Witt has served and held
several key positions with OSHA and the Department of Labor since 1972, most notably as the Director of the Directorate of Standards and Guidance, which was a combination of the Directorates of Health Standards Programs and Safety Standards Programs from August of 2002, as well as his most recent position as Director of the Directorate of Construction. Witt is alumni of both Hoftstra University and the Boston School of Law, where he received both a bachelor of arts degree in Biology and Chemistry (Hoftstra), and a law degree (Boston School of Law).
Additionally Jennifer Ashley was appointed to Director of the OSHA Office of Communications. Ashley has over 20 years of experience in the field of Media and Communications Management, and previously served as Director of Communications for the International Associations of Fire Chiefs as well as Director of External Affairs for the North Carolina School of Public Health.
