New mine rescue technology uses old Nikola Tesla science

But now, with 63 years for science to catch up with Nikola Tesla after his death, one more of his inventions could make an impact. This time in the mining industry.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), published the article, Tapping Tesla to Save Trapped Miners in their journal Science. The article details how Lockheed Martin engineers used a concept of Tesla tinkered with in the 1890s to create a phone that can send a signal through 500 meters of solid rock.

Fatal Forklift Accident in Ohio

A worksite accident last July 15 left one casualty at Appleton Paper in West Carrollton, Ohio. The worker, William Wilson, got his legs trapped under a beam that fell from a forklift.
